Wendy Kveck is an artist from the Chicago area who lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada. Through her work in painting, performance and collage she examines images of women from art history and the media as cultural signifiers of excess and desire, anxiety and fear, regret and loss. Through subject matter, form and process she explores the relationship of images to the construction and perception of identity, gender, and our relationships with others and ourselves. Recent projects include a Jentel Artist Residency in Banner, Wyoming and the current exhibition "Kveck, Russ & Stellmon: Break Ups & Tear Downs" at the Marjorie Barrick Museum in Las Vegas. Upcoming, she'll be participating in the group exhibition "Contemporary Nevada: State of the State" at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno.
